Deborah Harper thought she was getting ready for a quick shopping trip - but when she suddenly lost function in one of her hands and struggled to speak clearly, she and her husband Rick knew something was seriously wrong.
Dianna Cowie decided in 2019 to become a volunteer at the Brant Community Healthcare System and she has not looked back.
“Our emergency physicians, nurses, and everyone who works in the emergency department at the BGH care for about 60,000 patients each year so when any of our equipment begins to show its age, we need to act” says. Dr. Somaiah Ahmed, Chief and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at the BCHS.

Earlier this summer a group of hospital employees, physicians, and donors gathered to celebrate the arrival of a new CT scanner in the diagnostic imaging department at the Brantford General Hospital (BGH).

This unit enhances the care provided for stroke patients throughout Brantford, Brant County, Norfolk, and Haldimand Counties and ensures patients receive seamless transition between acute and rehabilitation from a collaborative network of providers.
