Over the last few months, the Ministry of Health has encouraged hospitals to expand COVID-19 assessment centres to provide specific care for pediatric patients.
In response to the growing number of suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infections in our area, the Brant Community Healthcare System, in partnership with the Brantford Brant Ontario Health Team and Brantford Brant Primary Care Council, has made modifications to hours and patient eligibility at the existing Pediatric COVID-19 Assessment Clinic.
BCHS launched the Indigenous Medicine Program at the Brantford General Hospital to better understand and support Indigenous communities to ensure they receive quality health care.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health has reinstated Directive #2 for hospitals and regulated health professionals, instructing hospitals to pause all non-emergent and non-urgent surgeries and procedures in order to preserve critical care and human resource capacity.
Bill McDowall is among the first patients to have participated in the same-day joint program introduced last November by BCHS. The program enables selected patients to go home on the same day following hip, knee or shoulder surgery.
The city’s first baby of 2022 was born at 7:03 a.m. on January 1 at Brantford General Hospital.
Just as the dove is a symbolic representation of peace and love, so too is The DOVE Program at the Brant Community Healthcare System. Created by recreational therapists Rachel Brown and Julie Thompson, this program was built on the essence of personalized patient care through recreational therapy, adaptable leisure activities, and holistic healing.
