Matthew Mutamiri is a change practitioner deeply committed to transforming healthcare and the community in Brantford. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, he brings a global perspective to his role as the Clinical Manager for Inpatient Mental Health & Spiritual Care at Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS). For Matthew, leadership goes beyond managing a department—it’s about creating a compassionate, inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued.
Sandra Nimusiima-Kikulwe’s (Social Worker) journey into healthcare was fueled by a deep desire to serve others. Raised in Uganda by a mother who was a healthcare provider and a family who valued service – she was inspired to pursue a career that blended the two, understanding that helping others in times of need was a calling.
Audrey Zheke's (Peer Support & Wellness Specialist) commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging isn’t just a professional focus—it’s deeply personal. "Being grounded in my faith and culture gives me the strength to be myself in every space I enter," she says. “They help me stay centered and confident, and to show up as who I truly am."
Dr. Jenna Rebelo, our exceptional new otolaryn-gologist/Ear Nose Throat (ENT) surgeon and member of BCHS' Department of Surgery, talks about her training, journey in medicine, and return to Southern Ontario after spending five years in Sault Ste. Marie.

To enhance supports for newborns, BGH has introduced Eat, Sleep, Console – a program that transitions away from the standard pharmacological treatment to a model of care which prioritizes parental involvement.

We are excited to share that as part of the ongoing Emergency Department Renovation Improvement Project, the B-Wing, Level 1 corridor at Brantford General Hospital will be permanently re-routed starting Friday, January 10, 2025. This change is necessary to facilitate the construction of the new Ambulatory Assessment Area.
