The BCHS Foundation is committed to raising critical funds to support the top priority needs of the Brantford General Hospital and the Willett Urgent Care Centre.
In response to province-wide health system capacity constraints, the Government of Ontario has passed Bill 7 (More Beds, Better Care Act), which impacts patients who are clinically determined as ready for discharge and are awaiting placement in their preferred long-term care home.
This week's hospital insider celebrates BCHS as being the recipients of the latest One Tree One Bench initiative developed by architecture students at the University of Guelph.
Janice and Alex Kucharew are both survivors and advocates. Alex is in remission for Stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and Janice combatted breast cancer. The experiences that Janice and Alex have had to endure have made them stronger and willing to become Patient and Family Advisors (PFAs).
“A lot of us in this community were raised on the idea of the war on drugs and a ‘tough love’ approach. My hope is that we can refocus on compassion, respect and understanding in both BCHS and throughout our community.”
The Brant Community Healthcare System partnered with the Brantford Food Bank to donate much needed school supplies for children as they head back to school.

Mary Jane Savory recently retired at the end of December 2021 with 42 years of memories working at BGH. Twenty-eight of those years were in the emergency department, but she also worked in the post-partum unit and the pre-op clinic.
