Brant Community Healthcare System Launches Bold New Strategic Plan for 2025–2030

Brantford, ON – Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) has launched a new five-year Strategic Plan that sets a bold vision for the future of healthcare in Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations of the Grand River, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and surrounding communities.
With the new vision “Leading Beyond Care”, the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan positions BCHS as a provincial leader in redefining the role of hospitals in building healthier communities. The plan reflects BCHS’s deep commitment to equity, innovation, and collaboration, and reaffirms its responsibility as an anchor institution in the region.
“We are proud of what this plan represents—not just for BCHS, but for the people and community we serve,” said Bonnie Camm, President & CEO. “It builds on our strengths and sets a new standard for how hospitals can go beyond traditional care to drive real change in people’s lives and health outcomes.”
Dave Diegel, Chair of the BCHS Board of Directors, expressed his pride in the new direction. “Today, we’re not just launching a plan—we’re launching a promise. A promise to grow with our community, to always put people first, and to build a healthier future for everyone. The strategic pillars we’re unveiling today reflect our shared vision, and the Board is excited to support this transformative journey.”
Harold Stahl, Chair of the Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC), emphasized the plan’s focus on patients and their experience. “As someone who represents the voices of patients and families, I’m thrilled to see that our input is central to this strategic plan,” said Stahl. “It’s incredibly encouraging to see the hospital’s commitment to creating an inclusive, compassionate environment where every patient’s needs are prioritized, and where their voices will continue to be heard and valued.”
The plan is grounded in four strategic pillars:
- Patients: Prioritizing high-quality, person-centered care and improving patient outcomes.
- People: Focusing on the recruitment, retention, well-being, development, and engagement of TeamBCHS.
- Partners: Leading collaborations within the hospital and with community partners to drive innovation, elevate healthcare quality, and improve health outcomes.
- Progress: Advancing the redevelopment of BCHS’ facilities, services, and systems to meet the evolving needs of the communities served, ensuring sustainable, environmentally responsible, high quality, and accessible care for years to come.
At the heart of the plan is a set of values that reflect the BCHS culture: Be Bold and Courageous, Commit to Excellence, Champion Equity, and Be Trustworthy.
“This plan was made possible through the insight and dedication of many,” added Camm. “We extend our sincerest thanks to the members of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee, as well as every staff member, physician, volunteer, patient, community partner and member who shared their voice and helped shape this vision for BCHS’ future.”
