Food and Nutrition
The Nutrition Services Department is proud to provide our hot entrees using the patented Steamplicity® technology; a unique and innovative way of providing healthy, nutritious and balanced meals.
Steamplicity is a way of cooking fresh and wholesome ingredients using the healthiest of all cooking methods – steam pressure. Patients are provided with a restaurant style menu to keep for the duration of their stay. The menu includes up to 8 Steamplicity hot entrees, 3-5 sandwich choices, salads, and a variety of desserts and beverages.
Nutrition Associates take patients meal selections two-three hours prior to dinner, and the day before for breakfast and lunch using an IPAD allowing for selections to be verified for diet compliance. Trays are assembled and meals are cooked just minutes before service in the kitchen– allowing us to give patients the greatest possible choice of meals and menu selections.
There are many well documented benefits of the Steamplicity system including better quality, more nutritious food, flexibility of service times, increased satisfaction, elimination of late trays, and considerably less food waste.
Meal Times
Although meal times may vary slightly, approximate times for meals are:
- Breakfast 8:00 a.m.
- Lunch 11:30 a.m.
- Dinner 4:45 p.m.
