Accessibility

The Brant Community Healthcare System is committed to excellence in serving all patients/clients, including people with disabilities.

You can download and review the BCHS Integrated Accessibility Multi Year Plan in PDF format.

Documents and policies under the AODA Customer Service Standard will be provided to a person with a disability in a mutually agreed upon format that takes into account the person's disability. This information will be provided as soon as practicable.

If any emergency procedures, plans or public safety information are made available to the public, they will be provided to a person with a disability in a mutually agreed upon format that takes into account the person's disability, as required by AODA Integrated Accessibility Standards. This information will be provided as soon as practicable.

Service Animals

The Brant Community Healthcare System, including the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation, is committed to welcoming people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal on the parts of its premises that are open to the public and other third parties. When a service animal accompanies a patient, visitor, employee or medical staff member, the animal is granted access into all areas of the hospital permitted to others except those areas that require special precautions/attire (e.g. personal protective equipment) and alternatives are not available (e.g. OR). All reasonable efforts are to be made to accommodate the patient with a service animal.
