Collection Information Samples must be transported to the laboratory within 30 minutes of collection, if not on ice.

Samples placed on ice slurry at collection may be transported to the laboratory within 2 hours of collection.

 

Tube must be at least 2/3 full to capacity or rejected.  Use low volume collection tubes (2 ml) or 0.5 mL collected in a balanced heparin syringe (butterfly attachment) for pediatrics or difficult draws.
