BGH nurse completes eighth medical mission

Ankie Werdekker has been a registered nurse for over 35 years primarily working in the Emergency Department at the Brantford General Hospital.

As a member of the volunteer medical charity, Team Broken Earth, she recently returned from her 8th mission back in June.

During her time in Guatemala, her team saw more than 300 patients in rural areas.

When asked why she volunteers, Ankie said “I find I have something I can share and perhaps inspire others. It is my way to pay it forward.”
