BCHS Welcomes Dr. Kim Ann Laush as Chair of the Board of Directors

Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kim Ann Laush as the new Chair of the Board of Directors.
Since joining the BCHS Board in 2022, Dr. Laush has been a dedicated and valued contributor, bringing a strong commitment to community service, education, and leadership. Her appointment as Chair reflects a career defined by a passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the systems that support community well-being.
Dr. Laush currently serves as Associate Dean, Community Services at Niagara College, where she helps prepare the next generation of professionals in social and community services. Her career began on the front lines of community and social services, including roles in children’s mental health and youth detention and custody settings, before moving into elementary education with both the Grand Erie District School Board and Waterloo Region District School Board.
A lifelong learner and educator, Dr. Laush holds an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Work, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Education from York University, a Master of Education from Nipissing University, and a Doctorate in Leadership in Higher Education from Western University. She remains actively involved in teaching at both the college and university levels.
“Dr. Laush brings a unique combination of leadership, compassion, and community-focused experience to this role,” said Bonnie Camm, President & CEO. “Her background across education, social services, and governance positions her well to lead the Board as BCHS continues serving as an anchor for community well-being through healthcare excellence.”
As BCHS welcomes Dr. Laush into her new role, the organization also extends its sincere gratitude to David Diegel, who served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the past two years. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Diegel provided dedicated leadership and stewardship, helping guide BCHS through a period of continued growth and transformation. BCHS thanks him for his service and contributions.
As Chair, Dr. Laush will work alongside fellow Board members, hospital leadership, employees, professional staff, volunteers, and community partners to support BCHS' strategic priorities and help ensure exceptional care.
Reflecting on her appointment, Dr. Laush shared, "I am honoured to serve as Chair of the BCHS Board of Directors. Healthcare is fundamental to the strength and well-being of our communities, and I look forward to working with the Board and leadership team to support BCHS in delivering exceptional care and meeting the evolving needs of those we serve."
