Collect specimen in a dark blue top tube (Na Heparin or K2EDTA). Centrifuge and remove plasma and buffy coat from red blood cells within 30 minutes of collection; discard plasma. Transfer the remaining red blood cells into a transport tube.
Store and ship refrigerated.
