Collect blood in SST tube. Allow blood to clot at room temperature and separate by centrifugation as soon as possible. Transfer serum to a labeled aliquot tube. Store and ship refrigerated at 2-8 degrees BAL and Bronchial Wash: Collect 5 ml in sterile trap. If more than one test requested, collect >10 ml. Remove trap and replace with screw capped lid before transporting. Send to HGH Clinical Chemistry & Immunology ASAP. Samples can be stored at 2-8°C for 24 hours. >24 hours store at -70. Freeze and ship frozen on dry ice.
