Collection Information	Remove surface material by wiping with sterile saline or 70% alcohol. The physician will take a portion of tissue in the area of question. submit adequate size of sample. The tissue is then quickly transferred to a sterile container. The sample is then labeled appropriately and then sent to the laboratory immediately.

Storage and Transport	Specimen should be transported to the laboratory ASAP after collection in biohazard bag. Specimen should not be transported through the automated delivery system. Specimen should be stored at 2-8°C temperature after receipt in the laboratory ( Microbiology rack)
