If Serratia is detected notify immediately the ward that the patient is on (if an in-patient), patient registration (so a flag may be created) and infection control. |
| Storage and Transport |
Specimen should be transported to the laboratory after collection in biohazard bag. Specimen should be stored at room temperature in the laboratory (in the Microbiology rack) after receipt. |
