How to Apply
Criteria
Age
Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
Time Commitment
Volunteers are required to contribute between 2-4 hours once a week. We require a minimum commitment of 6 months. Student volunteers completing their community hours for their high school diploma are required to complete 60 hours.
Health Requirements
All volunteers are required to complete a 2-step TB skin test and blood test. This requirement is legislated under the Public Hospitals Act.
Screening
Volunteer Services will screen all applicants.
Criminal Reference Checks
As part of the screening process, we will request a Criminal Reference for anyone wishing to volunteer in our community programs. ie; Volunteer Driver Program, Odd Job Squad, Shop & Drive Program and Community Visiting. Apply Here
1. Application Form
- Pick up an application form at Volunteers Services at Brantford General Site or Willett Site
- Call Volunteer Services and have one mailed to you
Once completed, please mail to or drop off application at the appropriate site.

2. Interview
- Volunteer Services will schedule an interview within 7 days of receiving application
- Volunteers are placed according to the needs of the Hospital and the volunteers area of interest
3. Health Review
- All applicants will be instructed to call the Organizational Health Office to book appointment for their T.B. skin test and blood work
4. Orientation
- All volunteers must attend a general orientation session
- Placement start date & training information may be confirmed
5. Departmental Training
- Upon completion of reference checks, health testing and general orientation, all volunteers will receive training session(s) prior to starting their placements.
