Breastfeeding programs in our community
Expectant parents can learn about the importance of breastfeeding and tips for success at a breastfeeding class offered on a regular basis as part of a prenatal education series. For information, or to register, call Carol at 753-4937 ext. 257.
A Public Health Nurse contacts all new mothers in Brantford and Brant County . Mothers who have questions or concerns about their baby, including breastfeeding issues, are offered a home visit.
Public Health Nurses are available to provide information and support to families at the Well Baby/Well Child drop in clinic (called Room to Grow). It is located at the Early Years Centre and runs on Tuesday from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and Thursday from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m..
A Public Health Nurse is available to provide telephone advice from Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30. The health information line can be reached at 753-4937 ext. 259.
The La Leche League is a mother to mother support group with meetings on the last Friday of the month at the Early Years Centre. ( 330 West St. Brantford ) They also have 24 hr support over the telephone.
