The Emergency Department
at The Brantford General Hospital

The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is continuously staffed by a specially trained team of Emergency Physicians and Nurses.

We see over 43,000 patients each year, or about 120 per day. We are classified as a Level 2 Trauma Centre.

Our peak hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the weekends and holidays are especially busy. For this reason, it is advisable that you contact your family physician for the treatment of non-urgent problems. Your family doctor knows your overall health profile, the medications you take, your occupation and social situation.
