Required Organizational Practices (ROP)

“A Required Organizational Practice (ROP) is an essential practice that evidence and consultation with the Patient Safety Advisory Committee of the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation has determined an organization must have in place to enhance patient/client safety and minimize risk. It is a specific requirement for health care and service organizations in the accreditation program. Over time new ROPs will be introduced as the field's patient/client safety-related experience progresses and as new evidence and best practices are recognized.”
