Registered Nurse
Float Pool, Centralized Resources
Full-time
Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Services, the successful applicant will float between departments and will be assigned to the weekend worker role, you must meet the following criteria:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited college/ university nursing program
Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
MANDATORY COMPETENCIES:
Cognitive:
Self directed individual with the ability to work both independently and in partnership with members of the inter-professional team
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and personal development in nursing
Creative problem solver with a solution focus and patient friendly approach
Proven critical thinking skills
Demonstrated excellence in patient assessment and care planning
Technical:
Demonstrates commitment to exceptional customer service with patients, families, staff, colleagues and community partners
Ability to establish positive and proactive work relationships with external partners
Demonstrated ability to be a coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students
Mature, reliable individual with excellent attendance record and able to work all shifts (currently the shifts are weekends only, however it is subject to change)
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus
Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment
PREFERRED:
Recent Medical and/or Surgical nursing experience
Critical Care and/or Emergency experience an asset
Advanced patient assessment and arrhythmia interpretation courses an asset
Demonstrated competence in patient assessment and care planning
Member of RNAO
Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Primary Responsibilities also include:
