MEDICAL STUDENT BURSARY OPPORTUNITY

In order to encourage qualified students to enter medicine, the Brant County Medical Association and the Community Task Force on Primary Care have established awards to be made annually to students with limited financial resources who intend to obtain the degree of Doctor of Medicine. University students who have received their secondary school education in Brant County schools or are a resident of Brant County are eligible to apply.

A completed application, a cover letter outlining the reasons for the student's intention to obtain a degree in medicine, and a letter from the medical school stating that the applicant is a medical student in good standing must be included.  A call for submissions goes out once a year.  For further information contact Brittany Timothy at btimothy@bchsys.org.

The committee reserves the right to divide the awards between two or more candidates in any proportion if it should deem this advisable and to make no award if it fails to find a suitable applicant. Completed applicatons must be submitted before May 31st 2008.

NURSING PROFESSION BURSARY OPPORTUNITY

The Community Taskforce on Primary Care, in conjunction with the City of Brantford and the County of Brant, is offering four bursaries of $1,500 for nursing students, registered practical nurses or registered nurses who are interested in advancing their nursing education. 

In order to be considered, applicants must be enrolled in a recognized university or community college program designed to further studies in the nursing profession. The purpose of these bursaries is to assist individuals who are interested in working in the nursing profession in the Brant community following the completion of their education. Students who have received their secondary school education in Brant County Schools or are a resident of Brant County are eligible to apply.

A cover letter outlining the applicant's professional goals should be included. A call for submissions goes out locally once a year. For further information contact contact Brittany Timothyat btimothy@bchsys.org. Completed applications must be submitted before May 31st, 2008.
