The S.C. Johnson Dialysis Unit

The S.C. Johnson Wax Dialysis Unit of  The Brantford General Hospital now provides hemodialysis to 80 clients from the Brantford area. These clients are being treated for chronic renal failure and have initially been dialyzed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton. The nephrology group of St. Joseph's physicians have covered their medical care and continue to do so once transferred to BGH. The unit provides treatment to outpatients only who are otherwise medically stable.

Care is delivered in a very patient focused, pleasant and comfortable environment by RNs (Registered Nurses) who have completed a thorough Hemodialysis orientation. They work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, nephrologists and dialysis technologists.

Dialysis machines are the most current in technology, providing a safe dialysis treatment by monitoring all necessary parameters including blood volume.

<The new expansion of the S.C Johnson Dialysis Clinic has doubled our capacity so that 80 patients can now be dialyzed close to home.
